The Jackpine Conference, an athletic conference in the central Michigan area, is made up of the following
class B and C schools:
 Harrison, Beaverton, Clare, Farwell, Gladwin, Houghton Lake, Meridian, and Roscommon

HCS's 2008 JPC All-Academic Team

Each year the Jack Pine Conference All Academic Awards are presented to eight students from each of the schools in the conference. This honor is based on a formula which combines GPA and ACT scores. These students are not necessarily athletes.

The Harrison High School is pleased to announce this year’s winners:

First Team Honorees:
Lauren Boulton, Michael Haley, Rebecca Henry, Jacob VanOosterhout

Second Team Honorees:
Robert Flemming, Crystal Schmidt, James Shepherd, Brandy VanDenbrook

Congratulations to all!

On April 30th, 2008, the Riverwalk Grill in Gladwin hosted the 2008 Jack Pine All-Academic Conference Luncheon. Each year, the Jack Pine Conference selects hard working students to be recognized for their academic achievements throughout high school. The selections are based upon the students’ grade point averages and ACT or SAT scores. The formula used for selection is the same process that the Detroit Free Press uses for All-State students. Athletics is not a factor in this honor of students.

The following principals of the Jack Pine Conference presented awards to their students; Mr. Greg Paxton, Beaverton, Mr. Lee Turner, Clare, Mr. Rick Smith, Farwell, Mr. Pat Dillon, Gladwin, Mr. Tom House, Harrison, Mr. Jack Kramer, Houghton Lake, Mr. Dennis Stine, Meridian, Ms. Catherine Erickson, from Roscommon.
